Cable for installation work
Installation cable has different priorities from a hi-fi listening room run. Once it is inside a wall or ceiling void it needs to be safe, correctly rated for the application, and specified generously enough that you never want to open the plasterwork again.
Buy on the drum rather than by the metre where a job covers several rooms, and allow a working margin on every run. Check the fire rating requirements that apply to your installation before ordering, particularly for cable passing through voids or between floors. Outdoor cable needs UV and moisture resistance in the jacket, which standard interior cable does not have.
Conductor gauge matters more here than in a short listening room run, because installation distances are longer and voltage drop becomes real. Tell us the run lengths and the speakers involved and we will tell you what gauge to specify. Bulk drums, wall plates and connectors can all be supplied together.
