Built with Solid Long-Grain Copper and 100% shielded gold-plated connectors, AudioQuest's CAT6 Pearl allows 10G ethernet over up to 55 metres. This cable delivers excellent performance for streaming audio or video, and as always provides a more reliable connection than wi-fi.

Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) Conductors :
Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Solid long-grain copper conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications, like Ethernet audio. These signals, being such a high frequency travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly cost effective way of manufacturing very high quality Ethernet cables.
Solid High-Density Polyethylene Insulation :
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then later released as distortion. Solid High-Density Polyethylene Insulation ensures critical signal-pair geometry while minimizing insulation-induced phase distortion.

Directionality :
All audio cables are directional. The correct direction is determined by listening to every batch of metal conductors used in every AudioQuest audio cable. Conductor and metal choices come first
Solid conductors and metal quality are two of the ideas AudioQuest returns to across its range. HyperLitz, a conductor construction patented in 1988, is another. Directionality, the principle that a cable is built to carry signal in one direction, is the fourth.
Noise is treated as a separate design problem
AudioQuest lists its noise-dissipation technologies as ZERO-Tech, RF/ND-Tech and the Dielectric-Bias System, which was patented in 2004. They are applied alongside the conductor work rather than in place of it, and which ones a cable carries depends on the model and its price.
One brand across the whole system

The cables are of very good quality, and I will be ordering another one soon.
I'm not an expert on which cables are best to use, but I knew the Ethernet cables I was using needed replacing, as they were old and I wanted the best ones I could get for my new setup. So I ordered the AudioQuest CAT6 Pearl RJ/E Ethernet Cables. However, after placing the order, I noticed that Futureshop also sells CAT7 and CAT8 Ethernet versions, so thinking I might have ordered the wrong ones, I gave the shop a call and spoke to a pleasant guy who advised me that for the setup I have. The CAT6 were ideal for my situation, while CAT7 and 8 were more suitable for longer cable lengths and office setups, etc.
So hats off to an honest and trusted service.

I can't say the music has now got more sound stage or the picture is clearer as I don't know what I'm talking about, however, the construction and quality of it feels so much better.
The connectors were a very tight fit so be careful, but be assured that they are very secure and will not pull out easily, very important when you have new kittens. I can't say the speed is any faster again because I'm no expert but many many things in our house run on Wi-Fi and all seem to be connecting flawlessly now.
