Four decades of building cable in Wiltshire
Chord Company started in 1985 and are still independently owned, still in Wiltshire, and still terminating cables by hand on site. In an industry where most manufacturing has moved offshore, that is worth stating plainly, because termination quality is one of the few cable variables that is easy to get wrong and impossible to see from the outside.
What sets them apart is a real research budget for a company their size. Taylon is a dielectric material Chord adopted because of how it behaves at the temperatures a cable actually runs at, where more common insulation materials go through a phase change. ARAY is a conductor geometry developed in-house and applied differently depending on the cable type. GroundARAY came out of the same work and does something different again, giving high-frequency noise on a component's chassis somewhere to go.
The other thing customers notice is that Chord are unusually clear about where each range sits and what it is for. There is no attempt to persuade you that the top range is the right answer for a starter system.

Each Signature conductor is built using high quality silver-plated conductors. Insulation is PTFE and the shielding consists of two layers of high-density silver-plated braid that is effective over a very wide frequency range. The shielding is covered with a white PTFE precision applied outer extrusion.
