Furutech FP-TCS31 PC-TripleC Power Cable
Furutech’s α (Alpha) PC-Triple C is one of a select few of conductors that Furutech engineers have found to excel in sound reproduction. α (Alpha) PC-Triple C is made with Furukawa high-purity oxygen-free copper using a special forging process. Unlike regular OFC (oxygen-free copper), almost all of the impurities of this high-purity OFC have been removed at the micron level through a special casting process unique to Furukawa.
Purposely designed and developed for audio signal conductors, α (Alpha) PC-Triple C is flexible, strong and can be drawn into a very fine wire. This new conductor, while not single-crystal like PCOCC, features crystal grain boundaries that are almost totally free of impurities which allows even the smallest of signals to be transmitted. While PCOCC is a single-crystal conductor, it is susceptible to imperfections during production. Since α (Alpha) PC-Triple C employs a fixed angle continuous transport forging process, pressure is applied to the high-purity oxygen-free copper tens of thousands times. This ensures that any crystal grain boundaries that were present in a vertical direction become longitudinal, and the crystals become connected and uniform in their direction. This process also helps to remove the imperfections that are often found in PCOCC, which create a more conductive and acoustic conductor.
The resulting conductor has an extremely fine resolution down and through the very low noise floor, improved sound staging and image palpability, a musical, attractive, “round” midrange, tight and controlled bass, plus power and dynamics to spare to set your music on fire!

Optional Fuse Upgrade
As an optional extra, Future Shop will upgrade the built-in fuse to the excellent Blue 13A fuse from Synergistic Research (SR). The SR Blue fuse is an excellent upgrade choice due to the materials used which offer an increase in resolution and realism over standard fuses. Some of the improvements you may hear include; a quieter noise-floor, greater dynamics, a more relaxed sound and detailed musicality.

The Furutech FP-TCS31 PC-TripleC power cable receives consistent praise for delivering audible sonic improvements including enhanced soundstage, clarity, detail retrieval, and dynamic range across a range of audio components. Build quality is described as excellent and heavy-duty, with the cable offering strong value compared to more expensive competitors. However, the cable's substantial diameter and stiffness present practical challenges: installation in tight spaces is difficult, termination requires careful planning and often professional wiring assistance, and routing behind equipment can be cumbersome. Connector choice significantly impacts performance and compatibility; angled 90-degree plugs may create stress on some connector designs, particularly the FI-UK-N1. Customer service, particularly from Futureshop staff, receives repeated commendation. A recurring negative theme is the cable's inflexibility and installation difficulty, which may limit suitability for space-constrained setups.
The mains plug is a 90degree version (which reduces stress on the mains wall plate) and I found it difficult to wire the plug because the live conductors are heavy gauge and I couldn't really get the bend radius required due to the limited space within the void at the back of the plug between the terminals and the plug cover so the cables are installed under a bit of stress. It might be OK with smaller-diameter cables, but I don't think this cable design is suitable for the FI-UK-N1 NCF(R) plug, and I think that needs to be made clear. I could connect it easily to the FI-28 IEC Connector, though.
It's worth knowing that Futureshop will wire the cable to the plug and connectors for you as part of a service, but I like to do that myself (I like a challenge!). The cable is very heavy duty and feels lovely. It's challenging to strip the inner insulation but not impossible. It isn't as flexible as smaller-diameter cables, as expected, and you won't get a good bend radius in tight spaces, so it is better used where space isn't an issue. Performance-wise, I noticed an immediate improvement in soundstage, etc., with this cable connected to my Audiolab 9000A amp, straight out of the box, and I suspect it will improve once fully burned in; it replaced a QED XT5 power cable.
I think I might go for the smaller diameter version for other equipment that does not draw lots of power, i.e. not mains blocks, power amps or subs, where this version of the cable is probably best suited. I would recommend the cable.
Now it is replacing my decent power cables with better ones of the same model and manufacturer.

Better results than other (not cheap) cables. The option to order cable, at the desired length needed and with choice end plugs is a lot cheaper than original manufacturer cables.
I'm about to order more of these cables for a unified system build.
This TCS31 is an anaconda of a cable; however, compared to the TCS21, in my enclosed racking, it was not possible to wrangle it to all components. However, it is used for the critical connection between my Furutech wall socket and power block. TCS21s feed low-current source components and the pre-amp. The TCS31 is more capable, but it is worth carefully considering the amplifiers’ requirements.
I auditioned both with the AQ Monsoon and 1.5 sq. mm OEM cables with my power amps. Whilst differences were marked on source components, they weren’t as apparent on my Benchmark power amps. There was no discernible difference between the Furutech cables but I did prefer both over the Monsoon, which seemed to accentuate high and low frequencies, For context I don’t have conditioning or filtering to avoid potentially limiting inrush current for start up/transients and the power block is fed via a 20A radial to IEC19. The power amps also rely on capacitors rather than transformers, and despite a peak output of 29A, they are only 4A inputs. Furutech doesn’t list the number of cores in their cables, but the AWG size of the TCS31 is likely to have a 10-14A rating depending on the core count, and the TCS21 is about 25% less than that.
In summary, it really is worth auditioning cables because they do sound different on different components. For example, I have found that increasing cable size too much on some components can make the sound ‘thick’ or ‘booming’. I used a TCS31, TCS21, and a borrowed AQ Monsoon and swapped around components to choose the best combination with the constraints of my rack.

After I replaced FP-314Ag with the new FP-TCS31, I couldn't believe this big jump! Everything changed significantly. The Gamma set 2.4 became much higher (maybe 2.5 - 2.6 or even higher). Contrast, Colors, Brightness, and Resolution all become much more intense and incredibly powerful, which requires me to re-calibrate the TV to the reference level (I'm using ChromaPure software for calibration).
Reducing TV settings reduces background processing, which is very beneficial.
For user termination, I highly recommend combining Shield with Earth, as shown in the DPS 4.1 video. This will improve signal strength and reduce noise. I use a generous amount of shield.
It's added an increased sense of resolution across all frequency bands, making the music more involving with improved clarity into the mix. Bass has more texture and depth, so yes, it makes it sound better!
I was a little nervous about its size and weight, but although fat, I found it okay to dress behind my rack, and the plugs hold nicely.
Highly recommended.

I added yellow QSA fuses and believe they add at least 50% of the SQ uplift, but I also found the cheaper black fuses to make a significant uptick from standard.
I eventually settled on this cable and the plugs It arrived approximately 29 hrs after making the order!! This cable is the most l had ever paid, however, it is very impressive and the joy of listening to music when it is fitted is fantastic and the joy felt extinguishes any thought of cost (worth every penny). Each track played, l heard something new, the clarity in the soundstage was very apparent.
Future Shop was fantastic to deal with, and l will definitely do so again in the future.
Future shop 96hrs burn in service. I would say the cable now sounds very similar to my another Shunyata V10 (which almost double the price of the Furutech one) in my system. I strongly recommend this cable.

The cable is currently used with a PMC Cor amp, it has toned down the treble, more definition & more depth to the music. I am changing my amp to the Bryston 135 cubed next week & I am confident that the cable will work just as well, if not better.

I particularly love the FP-TCS31 - the B135 integrated amplifier doesn't feel 'strangled' with it as compared to thinner power cords; it's probably the effect of a thick cable which by physics, results in less resistance to the current.
The cable was built to order and delivered in good time.
Both the cable and receivers help subtly manage the overall musicality of recordings, and do not add any forwardness to performances.
Sound is super clean, unbloated, musical with detailed highs, viscereal mids and tight honest, just as it should be bass. It sounds like my Devialet800 (clean) Naim 500 (fast) and Krell evolution 900(power) mated and gave birth to this Furutech “umbilical “ cable.. Ha ha !
I guess all the science, research, tech brainstorming that Furutech has put into making this cable shows. The capability comes from its well engineered DNA put into it, from great money, hardwork and study spent by its makers. Kudos to Furutech. What you claim on white paper comes true in practicality. Skeptics need to hear this cable asap !
My Magnepans 20.1 is giving me the bass ive never heard before. Sonus Faber Stradivarius and Proac D40R are presenting beguiling and mesmerising sonics in other rooms.
All i did was a replace a core power backbone cable with this Furutech on a 20 ~ 40A, grid line bearing 240vac, straight into a power conditioner. Next step is to upgrade all other component power cables to this Furutech. And wait for the magic!!

Bass is full, tight and decisive. Treble is crystal clear without being in any way harsh or tiring. Midrange is fantastically informative. Dynamics are allowed to flow freely as are micro dynamics, making for a beautifully detailed sound. I cannot praise these cables highly enough for sound quality and value for money. My cables cost £767 and the Shunyata equivalent came in at £1250!
These cables will be staying in my system and the search for perfect sound is over.
