Quantum Science Audio (QSA) Power Jitter Yellow UK Plug

The Yellow Standard Jitter offers a wide sound stage that allows listeners to experience the full range of sound from their music. The integration of instruments and vocals is seamless, creating a cohesive and balanced soundscape. This allows listeners to appreciate the nuances of their music more accurately, bringing out the details that are sometimes lost in traditional stereo setups. The wider sound stage also adds depth and richness to the music, creating a captivating listening experience that immerses the listener in the music.

The benefit of Standard jitters is that users will experience a more natural and analogue-like sound. Typically listeners experience a warmer and more enveloping sound, allowing them to immerse themselves in the music they are listening to. Additionally, since Standard jitters require burn-in time, listeners should notice a deeper sound experience over time, allowing you to evolve with your music library. This feature is perfect for those who desire a calming and soothing audio experience to relax or for those who want to take their music listening to the next level.

QSA Power Jitters are designed to provide the same audio performance as their fuses with none of the drawbacks: no voiding of warranties, no risk of blowing, and a much more affordable price tag. Installation is as simple as connecting your existing power cables to the Power Jitter and then plugging it into your wall socket or mains distribution. We have noticed an increase in background detail, clarity across frequency ranges, expanded spatial awareness, and a more natural listening experience after just a few minutes.

If you want to try out a QSA fuse, but are uncertain, we suggest giving the power jitters a try first. It is advised to allow the power jitters to settle into your system for at least 50 hours (longer for higher ranges of jitter) to reduce any initial harshness or glare. We suggest starting with the Jitter attached to your distribution unit, but you can easily experiment by connecting it to different pieces of equipment to get the best sound for you.

Features

  • Metal molecular noise reduction technology provides clearer background noise and more detail
  • Metal molecule alignment technology offers 5 to 30% lower resistance than other brands, with faster transient response
  • Metal activation technology increases the electron flow per second for improved charge transfer efficiency

Metal Molecular Activation Technology (MMAT)

Metal Molecular Activation Technology is a process that increases the number of electron flows per second in conductor material, resulting in a much lower background noise and paving the way for further QSA treatments. All products must undergo this process first for the QSA treatments to be effective.

The products - such as fuses - undergo varying levels of colour graded treatments to improve performance. The higher grade of colours reach an optimal performance, wherein further treatments no longer improve the performance. Thus, a graduated level of performance improvement is achieved.

Musical Metal Molecule Alignment Technology (MMMAT)

QSA's Musical Metal Molecule Alignment Technology (MMMAT) drastically increases the charge transfer efficiency between metal and molecules, resulting in an exponential improvement of micro dynamics. This, in turn, leads to a much more vibrant and lively music experience, almost creating a magical ambiance that will make you want to keep on listening.

All QSA products, such as fuses, undergo this treatment, with the colour grade being determined by the number of times the product has been treated - higher grades reaching maximum performance after multiple treatments. This results in a graduated level of performance improvement.

Lowering The Noise Floor

QSA's mission is to make sure your home hi-fi system has the lowest possible noise floor by optimising the molecular properties of common weak points like fuses, mains sockets, ethernet connections, and residential fuse boxes. By doing this, their products can reduce noise in the system, providing deeper backgrounds with crisp detail, enhanced sound staging, and greater musical enjoyment. Most audiophile hi-fi systems can benefit from QSA's range of products to some degree. In fact, many users find that removal of these products makes the improvements even more noticeable.

Tweaks - Imagination or reality?
24 Jul 2024
Verified Buyer
I’m not the first to have wondered if there’s a possibility of imagined improvements as a result of psychological, cost vs value expectations. So, having said that can I add anything useful to the body of reviews and convey an honest opinion of what I have perceived? This is my second standard QSA yellow jitter. This jitter is now in the BMU socket connected via RAA Powerkord 500 AQ-Rh to the upgraded mains block, which supplies all major amplifiers and CD players. The BMU has the same type of Powerkord fitted with a QSA standard yellow fuse. It’s a pain to remove this for tests so I have reviewed on the basis of just testing with and without the jitter in place. HD Radio: BBC SOUNDS R3 Essential classics of 23.07.24 - various concert recordings of composers and compositions (320kbps): 1. Without - good but lacking the open soundstage I had before removing the jitter. 2. With - an open soundstage, strings are particularly good, more realistic and with that warm sound of bow on strings that you get in the concert hall. It's not quite there in that respect, but it's a lot better with the jitter than without. CD - upgraded UD7007 direct mode: Mediterraneo L’Arpeggiata 1. Without - a good soundstage, individual instruments are a little vaguely placed. They are a little louder, subjectively. The voices are a little edgy. The Double Bass is there but hazy. The trumpet is precisely placed but lacks a roundness of tone. It is hard and loud. 2. With - soundstage has definitely broadened. Individual instruments are more focused and resonant. Voices have lost that edge. The double bass is easier to locate (even in the concert hall, they are surprisingly difficult to locate if you shut your eyes). The trumpet has a more rounded and musical sound. I carried out further listening tests using the same criteria, and the results were similar. Streaming: PrestoClassical (up to 192:24 for some releases) Mediterraneo L’Arpeggiata res 44:16. Similar to CD except some distortion to trumpet - might be a streaming issue. Beethoven Quartet no13 and Brahms Quartet no3 - Belcea Quartet res 96:24 Without: solid but slightly harsh edge to violin ff’s. With: harshness removed, sweeter and a greater sense of presence. Conclusion: It is not the staggering difference (to my ears) that some people have reported, but it is definitely a worthwhile improvement. Value for money? Maybe it depends upon your own perception.

Effective piece of kit

I wasn't sure whether to buy this or not, I mean, a simple plug-in adaptor wouldn't make a difference, would it? Well, it has. Not night and day or any of those other hype terms. Subtle, I'd call it. The first thing I noticed was a reduction in volume, about 3-5 dB across all my inputs, I'd evened each input on my Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 amp so that each input would be roughly the same, and I had to re-adjust each one to compensate for the volume loss to bring it back up where it was before. At first, I noticed no other differences, but after about three days, I started listening to a favourite CD, and everything was ..... calmer. Does that make sense? Any rough edges had gone, and the treble was more detailed but not so zingy. I could hear things like cymbals more clearly, and the "airiness" at the top end seemed to be more abundant, which led to a more detailed soundstage, I could differentiate instruments more clearly. The midrange, particularly voices, was now better defined to the extent that I could now hear lyrics that were a mystery before. I can't say I've noticed much effect in the bass except possibly a little more definition. Is this all in the mind? Am I imagining it? Maybe, maybe it just forced me to listen more intently than I was before. Who knows? I'm happy with my purchase, and when funds allow, I'll be back for another for my second system (I should've bought the double pack!! You live and learn)

Repeat Purchase
19 May 2023

This is my second purchase of the QSA Yellow Power Jitters; I bought a single to try out but returned and bought another pair. I have the 3 feeding my amp, DAC and streamer LPSU via a Puritan Audio Labs PSM156. Each plug has had an accumulative effect; blacker background, increased clarity, separation and liquidity. Bass has become more articulate with each addition but hasn't made the bass/LFs bloom or over-saturated. I want to try the QSA mains outlets next and a higher-grade fuse, probably QSA Violet in the power cord feeding the PSM156. I highly recommend these Power Jitters; I have no idea how these things actually do what they do, including fuses, and I don't particularly care.

Outstanding Product!
20 Apr 2023

I have, over the years, steadily improved my music system, SR Orange fuse, QSA Light Blue fuses, and then SR Purple fuses. I Invested also in Power Cables, IEC cables and speaker cables. These investments gave me a bigger, clearer, more musical presentation... I was happy! Then I read about the Power Jitters. Reviews were positive. Intrigued, I ordered a pair of Yellows. These took a while to arrive...when they did arrive, I plugged one into my amp power cable and the other into the power cable feeding my Matrix power block from which my DAC, TV, and Sky box got their power. I listened...gosh, this is good... sounds more natural and less hi-fi. After a week of wonderful, rewarding listening, I decided to swap the Power Jitter feeding the power block to the DAC and Wham...this, to my ears was the magic step. The sound was more powerful, the sound stage was bigger, and instruments and voices sounded "live". For me, an outstanding product.

Another (pleasant) surprise
15 Apr 2023
Verified Buyer
I have both QSA and SR fuses in my system, but I wanted to try this QSA Power Jitter plugged into the wall feeding into my Puritan Audio Labs PSM 156 Master Mains Purifier into which I plugged all my components. This was good. I also experimented with plugging this QSA power jitter into the PSM 156 socket powering my DAC first, and then into the socket powering my integrated amp. When feeding the DAC it was good, but the wow moment came when I tried this Jitter plug for the power to the amp. There was a great sense of separation, front-to-back depth increased, the noise floor was reduced even more, and the bass was much meatier but tighter to the point I had to reduce my subwoofer volume. I will be buying more of these power jitters to fill out the used inputs in the PSM 156 mains purifier and to plug them into the wall before it. Great product, highly recommended if you're already on the QSA fuse journey (or SR, for that matter). As always, the customer service (in this case, Gary), was flawless, extremely attentive and conscientious. Could not be happier with Futureshop.
