The Storm 6 is not only a solid oak hi-fi rack, because it also features Atacama's isolated construction. The addition of isolation makes this rack perfect for reducing the ambient vibrations within your system and improving overall performance while stylishly containing your equipment.
Each hand-crafted Storm 6 is specifically made for you by Atacama's dedicated craftsmen. Simply choose the number of shelves and the height between them in the options above, and Atacama will construct your Storm 6.

Each shelf module is precision cut on a CNC machine to ensure consistency of fit and performance, then hand finished by dedicated craftsmen to enhance the visual appeal of the Natural wood.
The Atacama Apollo Storm 6 is not just an attractive piece of furniture; it has primarily been designed to maximize the performance of hi-fi equipment supported upon it.
With a choice of two leg colours, four storage heights and manufactured out of warp-resistant 27mm solid hardwood composite wood for strength and resonance absorption, each of the individual modules legs feature three additional levels of isolation.
First, a polymer isolation disc separates the outer leg collar from the wood forming a barrier between each of the wood and outer leg components. The second line of isolation is the leg spike cap. This too is a polymer construction, so the leg outer collar is completely isolated from residual sonic feedback present when playing music. Inside each of the leg spike caps, a press fit brass screw thread has been inserted (brass being chosen for its slow energy proliferation speed) with the third and final level of isolation has been achieved with the use of fully adjustable 8mm Bright Zinc Plated steel spikes and matching lock nuts.

The Atacama Apollo Storm 6 hi-fi rack receives consistent praise for excellent build quality, stylish appearance, and straightforward assembly. Customers frequently commend its solid construction, aesthetic appeal, and acoustic benefits including improved sound isolation and reduced resonance. It looks impressive on its own, and I'm looking forward to the arrival of the new kit that will fill it.
I am now planning to replace my other rack with the Apollo Storm 6 system.
Also, aesthetically, it is much better than the other racks I own, so highly recommended.
The spikes are okay, but they could be leg colour. All levelling must first be done on the base unit, as there is no chance once it's built. Overall, it's pretty good, apart from the plastic spacer detail.
The only negative is that the wood initially smells of glue or resin, but that dissipates after about 5 days.
This is my second unit and the first one still looks as good after many months as the day is was assembled so this speaks for itself.
This new stand has certainly done that, and my wife, who wasn't really sure about getting it, is now happy with it. I wasn't expecting any improvement in sonic performance as I had been content with my old stand in that respect but actually it has definitely improved the sound quality from my system. The Bass is now more solid, the treble is more detailed and the band has opened up.
The difference is not night and day, but it's definitely there. With my old stand I could hear a slight whining noise when spinning my Rega P3 turntable, it wasn't audible when the music was playing but could be heard when the music stopped. With my new stand, no whining noise is audible at all, so I assume that this must be due to improved isolation.
I was impressed by the service when making this purchase. I opted for free delivery, and two days after placing the order, I received a phone call from Atacama asking me when I would like the stand delivered. I requested the following day, for which I received a two-hour delivery window, and it arrived on time as promised.
The rack arrived well-packaged, high-quality, and easy to assemble. I had an Atacama Equinox some years ago, so I had a good idea of what to expect quality-wise. The Storm looks excellent in my living room, and I think that Atacama racks, in general, would look good in any home.
Another nice thing is the ability to add additional shelves as and when you require them. An Atacama rack can only be a beneficial addition to your hi-fi set-up.

Delivery was pretty quick, about 2 weeks rather than the specified 6 - 8 weeks. I went for oak to go with the existing furniture. As supplied the wood is quite "dry" and I therefore applied a couple of coats of a good quality wax furniture polish before assembly which I'm pleased I did as it makes a difference.
Audibly there is a small but definite improvement in sound with less resonance compared to my old unit. I've also added some rubber damping feet to my record deck which helped even more with the bass definition. Overall well satisfied.
